I had a left and right heart cath yesterday. Dr. Chris Rogers did the procedure and I was very impressed from the time we arrived and the tech, Adam S, explained everything that was going to happen. He made me comfortable, made me laugh, and took really good care of me. Kristi was my first nurse and she was great. She listened carefully every time I had a question (I had many) and took her time to answer and put me at ease. Once I got into the cath lab, they asked me what kind of music I wanted to listen to. I like contemporary Christian and that is what they played through the entire procedure. When the procedure was done, Dr. Chris Rogers talked to my wife, daughter and granddaughter and explained everything that was done, what was found and talked about the surgery I would need to have – aortic valve replacement. He was great. Everyone I came in contact with treated me with dignity and respect. They made me comfortable and when I was able to eat (I said I was starving) Adam helped me with the menu and my daughter ordered a very nice heart healthy meal for me. At 7:30 p.m., Kristi and Adam finished their shifts and Heather and the other pca or tech (can’t remember her name) took great care of me until it was time for me to go home. From the very beginning, they went into detail on exactly what was going to be done, what the time frame would most likely be, and when I could potentially go home. Kristi also gave me a brochure on what to expect when I have valve replacement surgery in the next month or so. When I left the unit, they said we will see you in about 4 weeks. Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly and made my visit comfortable. I would highly recommend Bronson Methodist Hospital and Dr. Chris Rogers. Thank you for the great care I received.
